FRIDAY 15/3/19- Final of Mens Minor Championship
This was played at a high standard between Travis Berry and Kevin
Rooke. Travis got out to an early start and soon had a comfortable
lead, but Kevin pegged him back over the closing stages and with a
run of winning ends ran out a very close winner 25 to 24. Kevin thus
won the Bill McAlpine Memorial Cup and Bill's widow Margaret was on
hand to witness the contest.

McAlpine(Trophy Donor) and Travis Berry (Runner Up)
MIDWEEK DIVISION 5 TOPPLE PREMIERSHIP FAVOURITES TO WIN FLAG
Our Division 5 team went into the 2018-19 Grand Final as the underdogs against Inglewood who were unbeaten for the entire season.
Not to be daunted by Inglewoods record, our players settled down quite early and at lunch there was nothing in the game.
However after the break things changed dramatically. Led by Hazel Troy's rink, Kangaroo Flat were now playing the better bowls and in control of
the game. Judi McMahons rink lifted to also get across the line and with a 2-0 rinks win and a scoreline of 63 to 39 the flag was ours.
Individual Rinks Scores - Hazel Troy 41 to 20 and Judi McMahon 22 to 19.
Congratulations to all the players
Winners are Grinners
Back Row - L to R - Corrie Verbeek, Hazel Troy, Judi McMahon and Brian Scollary
Front Row - Lorraine Eeles, Ann Tickner, Fay Retallick, Jean Walker(Emerg) and Bev Smith
In our other Midweek Finals, Division 1 reached the Preliminary Final but was defeated by Eaglehawk
and Division 3, despite finishing on top of the ladder suffered a disappointing loss to Marong in the Grand Final.
Better luck to all for next Season
